Hello there, I’m Jess!

I am a Christ-follower, mother, wife, and author. I grew up in beautiful Michigan, but am an East Texas transplant. In my spare time you can find me running for fun (yes I’m one of those people). I love the outdoors, hiking trails and fishing. Traveling is also a passion. One day I’d love to fill in the ‘world traveler’ in my Passport. I believe in bucket lists and writing down goals!

I am an insurance agent who recently turned into Homeschool mom/teacher and am loving this new season of life!

I have a background in Journalism and Communications and have been a published writer for over fourteen years. I have a background in sports journalism as well as reporting on Texas Education. The last few years writing has become more of a passion rather than a career choice. I have a desire to share about Christ’s love and sovereignty in life’s unexpected tragedies through my blog posts as well as my book- I Trust My God. From personally experiencing great loss, I want to remind others the hope we have in Christ though life may seem turned upside down. God never leaves or forsakes us. I have found deep healing in writing and it is a great joy to share the words the Lord etches in my heart.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10 ESV).
